Safe Sex and Early Testing Essential to Fight Against HIV

The Brecon & Radnorshire Liberal Democrats welcome the good news that 386 Welsh NHS patients at high-risk of contracting HIV  have accessed the preventative Truvada® PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis) drug since July 2017. PrEP became available in Wales through a three-year monitoring study, after dogged campaigning from the Welsh Liberal Democrats.

However, safe sex and early testing remain essential to successfully preventing and treating HIV/AIDS and other sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
