Since lockdown started, daily services on the Heart of Wales Line have been cut to just two trains each way – basically the normal Sunday service running every day. The Heart of Wales already had a less user-friendly Sunday service than other lines, with both trains being mainly in the afternoon.
This has not served the needs of essential workers during lockdown and does not serve anyone well now. Other routes have had services restored, but not the Heart of Wales! This is deeply unfair to people living in rural areas along the route, especially those whose jobs and businesses, who are already the most isolated, poorly served by public transport and in URGENT need of a better service.
We the undersigned call on Transport for Wales to restore the full timetable as operating before Covid measures were put in place with immediate effect.
