Roger Williams MP met with VisitBritain to discuss their work to promote visitors to rural Wales. Visit Britain has set up the GREAT Names for GREAT Britain campaign.
Chinese individuals can submit names in Mandarin for the 101 points of interest, including Hay Festival, Brecon Beacons and the Elan Valley, all three in Brecon and Radnorshire.
Roger Williams also raised the issue of promoting tourism to rural Wales earlier this month with the Culture Secretary, during oral questions in the House of Commons.

Roger Williams took part in a hustings organised by the British Association for Shooting and Conservation together with Lord DeMauley for the Conservative Party, and Angela Smith for the Labour Party. In his introductory remarks Roger Williams paid tribute to the contribution that shooting makes to the rural economy, bringing in jobs and prosperity through organised and more informal shoots.
Also the contribution to the environment made by shooting syndicates bring about increases in biodiversity and improvement in the appearance of the countryside and landscapes.
