Kirsty and Roger express concern at possible job losses in Knighton

Kirsty Williams AM and Roger Williams MP, for Brecon and Radnorshire, have expressed their concern about 42 potential local job losses after Benson Heating's parent company AmbiRad Ltd announced it wants to reduce its manufacturing sites from four to three by shutting its base in Knighton.

The company is holding a consultation process over the planned job losses with its staff in Knighton.

Commenting Kirsty Williams said:

“This is very worrying news, Knighton is a very close-knit community and this will hit the area very hard. Roger and I have written to the heads of AmbiRad requesting an urgent meeting, I will also be raising this in the assembly as an urgent question.”

Roger Williams added:

“I sympathise with the 42 people affected by this troubling news. Bensons is an important local employer and I will fight to keep these jobs in Radnorshire. I will be writing to the owners of AmbiRad – Nortek – to see what more can be done to prevent this from happening."
